  Lord Crewe Arms

An Eleventh Century Abbot’s Guest House with vaulted rooms, flagstone floors, the biggest winter roaring fires and glorious summer gardens perched perfectly on top of the North Pennine moors; what more do you want for your big day?

Let us add a dose of our famous northern hospitality, great ale, ‘good’ wines, and some delicious country food; local, garden-fresh and bespoke to you…

In a building that’s so unique a wedding at The Lord Crewe Arms can only be bespoke and tailor-made to the wishes of our bride and groom. So, whether you want the run of the place with music and dancing, or an intimate wedding breakfast with just the closest of friends; we will help you create a day that is as memorable as its setting. With a personal wedding coordinator on hand for the ins and outs and Chef Hicks in the kitchen cooking up a culinary storm it can’t get any better than this.
Ours is the perfect place for ‘intimate’ and where better to say your vows than the former lady of the manor’s morning room? The Dorothy Forster sits up to 14 for your ceremony and breakfast or alternatively you can dine downstairs in The Derwent with gorgeous garden views.
If music and dancing isn’t for you and you’d rather celebrate whilst the sun shines, The Bishop’s Dining room can seat up to 60 for wedding ceremonies and breakfasts over lunch. Framed by our three teardrop windows, The Bishop’s Dining room offers the best views of the Northumberland moors.
Turn the Lord Crewe Arms into your very own for your big day. Spoil yourself and your wedding party with private use of all 21 beautiful bedrooms and suites, The Bishop’s Dining Room, The Larders, The Cloister Gardens; and all of this topped off with a Northumbrian cooked breakfast in the morning to cure any champagne heads…!
The Lord Crewe is full of the magic of winter; roaring fires, cosy hideaways, sweeping stone floors and snuggly Persian rugs. Add a delicious cut roasting in The Larders’ fireplace and your ‘Winter Whimsy’ is complete. From Monday to Thursday, November to mid-March, enjoy private use with the added touches of a complimentary warmed apple cider for all your guests on arrival, 10% off our venue charge, the bridal suite ‘on us’, and bucks fizz and a full English for the Mr and Mrs for the morning after the night before… (all delivered to the warmth of your room if you like!)
