As a dance caller my job is to encourage people on to the dance floor and dance together. The types of dance I use are great mixers so people will not feel left on their own and usually find themselves dancing with people they have met before. They are a way of getting the two families together and enjoy the day.
Dance experience is not needed. While I can call for dancers who know the dances most times many of the participants do not so I walk everyone through the dance first then call out the moves as they are dancing.
As long as people join in they will enjoy themselves.
As long as they are over 4 years old helped as required by an adult and can walk they can join in. Age is no barrier.
There are short breaks between dances and I will tailor the session to suit your day.
